SYNOPSIS

British Film Festival favourite Bill Nighy returns in an expertly realised retelling of the masterful 1952 Akira Kurosawa film 'Ikiru'. Filmmaker Oliver Hermanus directs a script from prize winning author Kazuo Ishiguro that brings fresh inspiration to a certified classic. Mr. Williams (Nighy) presents as a quintessential 1950s English gentleman, buttoneddown and pinstriped, attending his mid-level bureaucratic job. When Williams receives a terminal diagnosis from his doctor, he begins to reflect on a life less lived as his time is about to run out. In a tremendous performance, Nighy masterfully captures the inevitable questions as Williams ponders his mortality, his life, loves and legacy
