The Banshees of Inisherin

(2022, dir. Martin McDonagh, w/ Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, Kerry Condon)

The Banshees of Inisherin will finish at approximately 8:27pm.

Set on a remote island off the west coast of Ireland during the Irish civil war, the serpentine narrative follows lifelong friends Padraic (Farrell) and Colm (Gleeson), who find themselves at an impasse when Colm unexpectedly puts an end to their friendship. A stunned Padraic, aided by his sister Siobhan (Kerry Condon) and troubled young islander Dominic (Barry Keoghan), endeavours to repair the relationship, refusing to take no for an answer. Padraic’s repeated efforts to rekindle their bromance only strengthen his former friend’s resolve and when a desperate ultimatum is delivered, events swiftly escalate, with shocking consequences.
