Sorry, we can't confirm the starting time of the second film yet.

You are invited to double feature night of enlightenment and entertainment to celebrate Support Don’t Punish 2022 on Saturday 25th June. Enjoy two new release movies in grand style at the iconic Astor Theatre with live zoom interview with international best selling author Johann Hari. In conjunction with other leading AOD organisations, Drug Policy Australia is screening a double feature of the new Baz Luhrmann blockbuster Elvis at 8:30 pm and preceded by The Fix starting at 6:30 pm. The Fix is a documentary based on Johann Hari’s book 'Chasing the Scream' and explores the drug wars in the United States and society's misunderstanding about drugs and addiction. Johann Hari will join us live from London to discuss the making of the 7-part documentary and his worldwide journey to discovering the truth about drugs and addiction. Elvis, a movie extravaganza by Baz Luhrmann starring Austin Butler and Oscar winner Tom Hanks, explores Elvis Presley's life and music from his early years in Tennessee and his meteoric rise to one of the most famous performers in history. Elvis’ dramatic fall from grace while battling food and drug addiction underscores that addiction is part of the human condition and can happen to anyone. Information Tables from Australia’s leading Alcohol and Other Drug charities will be present to answer your questions, hand out information and explain their services. In addition, Harm Reduction Victoria will be conducting Naloxone demonstrations showing how to save someone from overdosing on opiates. Doors will open at 5:45 pm and refreshments will be available at the bar. The Fix starts at 6:30 pm followed intermission and Elvis starting at 8:30 pm Support. Don't Punish 2022 Support Don't Punish is a globally recognised advocacy campaign calling for drug policies based on health and human rights.
