Formed in Berlin as a performance-art duo including Blixa Bargeld (later of Nick Cave's Bad Seeds) and American expatriate N.U. Unruh, Einsturzende Neubauten was among the first innovators in what would later become industrial music.

Exploring their deconstruction of sound from their humble beginnings in an autobahn fly-over hole in Berlin to their later status as some of the most daring musicians to emerge from the early-'80s avant-garde music scene. Showcasing rare footage, interviews, concert performances, and footage of the band's theatrical collaborations with artists Peter Zadek and Heiner Müller, it presents a detailed history of the band and their determination to break down sonic barriers and challenge audience perceptions.
