SYNOPSIS

Who said pop stardom would be easy? Following their breakthrough release, the Fisherman’s Friends are back and now facing the dreaded ‘second album’ syndrome with push back from the record executives and huge expectations from fans. It is all a bit much! In Cornwall, the band are back together auditioning for new members, sparking a long queue of UK warblers. They finally settle on new recruit Morgan (Richard Harrington, The Crown), but the band’s leader Jim (James Purefoy, Fisherman’s Friends BFF19) is having some doubts, worried that the band is losing its edge. While Jim has a budding romance with the explosive rock singer Aubrey Flynn (played by real-life Irish singer-songwriter Imelda May) on the cards, bumpy seas lie ahead for our intrepid troubadours. With the odds stacked against them, can the Fisherman’s Friends make it to the performance of their lives to play the iconic Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival – or will they end up floundering? One thing is for certain, you’ll fall hook, line and sinker for this lovable British musical comedy.
