SYNOPSIS

THE BATTLE OF LONG TAN honours and pays tribute to the true story of one of Australia’s greatest ever military encounters. The 90-minute documentary, which features rare interviews with the seven surviving commanders who fought on the frontline at Long Tan, will screen on the Astor SuperScreen for a special one off screening and unique event– and will include a special Q and A with ZaK Hepburn and documentary director Damien Lay, a performance and live rendition of the song ‘I Was Only 19’ by Augie March singer Glenn Richards, with the original writer and singer John Schumann also in attendance (this year marks the 40 year anniversary of the song) and short talks from Vietnam veterans and members of RSL Victoria. THE BATTLE OF LONG TAN screens for the launch of the 2023 ANZAC Appeal where 100% of the proceeds are used to support veterans and their families in times of needs through the RSL delivering life-changing support services. A percentage of ticket sales will be donated to the ANZAC Appeal. THE BATTLE OF LONG TAN is being screened through the support of The History Channel in support of the ANZAC Appeal.
