Ferris Bueller for the first time in 2K Digital No Free List
(1986, dir. John Hughes, w/ Matthew Broderick, Alan Ruck)
Ferris Bueller is now arguably the finest teen comedy of all time. Taking the day off school, Ferris hits the town with hypochondriac best friend Cameron and girlfriend Sloane. Hilarity ensues as the trio visit landmarks around Chicago, all before the iconic musical sequence aboard a parade float. Endlessly watch-able, Ferris just gets better with time. Wayne’s World will start at approximately 9:39pm, and finish at approximately 11:19pm.
Some say the 80s was the time for cult pop culture greats but the 90s is proving a pretty great gold mine too, especially when it comes to gems like Wayne's World. Revolving around a basement public access program hosted by slightly air-head but well meaning Wayne and Garth, whose love of metal and partying takes them on a most excellent adventure to save Wayne's girl from the Trappings of a super sleazy record executive. Brimming with sensational cameos (Alice Cooper, Chris Farley among others) WW catapulted Mike Myers to mainstream fame, and firmly planted Queens Bohemian Rhapsody into our pop culture psyche. A real time capsule of a movie, utterly quotable and above all, it's still so much fun. ABFILM INFO (Astor rating)
