JJ Abrams, the creator of Cloverfield, is quite a man of mystery. Usually preceding his projects with elaborate viral campaigns and secretive trailers, plus little to no information on the actual film, Super 8 is true to form. Super 8 centres on a group of teenagers making a movie in 1979 Ohio. Witnessing a train crash whilst shooting their film on Super 8mm film, they begin to suspect the event was no accident as disappearances and unexplained events begin to occur about town. In the summer of 1979, a group of friends in a small Ohio town witness a catastrophic train crash while making a super 8 movie and soon suspect that it was not an accident. Shortly after, unusual disappearances and inexplicable events begin to take place in town, and the local Deputy tries to uncover the truth - something more terrifying than any of them could have imagined.
