Hilarious adaptation of Neil Simon play about the first few weeks of a newly wed couple. Mildred Natwick is wonderful as the mother-in-law who has a major problem with the six flights of stairs leading to their dingy New York apartment. Charles Boyer plays a bohemian who lives upstairs. A Seinfeld-like lack of plot does nothing to harm this film’s charm. GF
Paul Bratter, a conservative young lawyer, marries a vivacious young woman, Corrie. Their highly passionate relationship descends into comical discord in a five-flight New York City walk-up apartment.
