Though we hate to be the bearer of bad screening news, it is our responsibility to announce to you whatever we know as and when we know it regarding changes to our scheduled programming. Sadly, due to the 2K DCP for The Fisher King being sent to us late following some unexplained “technical issues”, it will sadly – and frustratingly – arrive in Melbourne just after our scheduled screening on Monday night. So, we have decided to screen SOMETHING ELSE instead.
It will be: A SURPRISE REPLACEMENT TERRY GILLIAM FILM!*
*Not an actual film title, you will find out which of his fine films we shall screen on the night whence you attend!
The people at the Astor Theatre try to screen a newly remastered 2K DCP of THE FISHER KING. Unfortunately the evil forces of "technical issues" prevent the DCP from arriving at the cinema on time for the scheduled Australian re-release premiere. But, not wanting to disappoint their loyal audiences the Astor Theatre spend their Labour Day weekend sourcing another Terry Gilliam film to please their patrons. An honest, heartwarming and occasionally ludicrous story that will leave you contemplating the merits of the digital revolution whilst still offering you a quality film screening. TJ
